If you haven't already read through IGN's recent post about DBD game updates for July be sure to check that out. Now that you've browsed through everything, I just wanted to give my thoughts and opinions on this as a survivor main. I don't play killer nearly enough to give you a fair assessment on those changes but I'll just assume there's likely some give and take there as well.
Coldwind Farm Balance Update
This is by far one of my favorite maps and for good reason, it's more survivor based as you have all the gens on the outermost part of the map with the exception of very few in the center along with now more detailed corn fields to run and hide in. I agree, the center of the map is pretty useless and I think I've maybe found a totem or two at times in the freezer area but aside from using it to run a killer, there was nothing really happening. The gen area in the center is great for those who like to the loop killer but of course, the killer is likely to mess up this gen so it's best done working as a team from my experience. I'm excited to play the updated map and to see if this will still rank as one of my favorites to play on as a Survivor.
Prove Thyself
This is one of the best perks to earn more bloodpoints in the game. I don't like the fact they're making this perk worse when personally, I didn't notice this really boosting my repair speed in general (does 5% really make a difference? Ehhh... not so sure). Also, I'm not so sure everything in this game is at 100% because some of the perks I've run together, the math doesn't really add up for me, so if that's the case would 5% change much on something that's really totaling at 500%. I really wish when you added certain perks and items together that it showed you what percentage you would actually get in your next game for the specified items (be it a total on gen repairs, bloodpoint bonus percentages, wiggle progression, etc). If I bring in enough things that look to total 100% gen progression then how come when I use them the gen isn't instantly done once I start it, so things like that don't really add up for me.
Blast Mine
I like that this is becoming a more aggressive and worthwhile perk and that the time is extended but it really feels extremely extended to where I'm wondering how fair this is going to be for a newbie killer but also... when the gen does blow, will it be harder to make a comeback from its damages as a survivor repairing gens?
Wiretap
I'm super glad the seconds of this is now extended because it was very fleeting before in my opinion and it didn't feel like a worthwhile perk in the long run. However, the fact you will now have to repair the gen to at least halfway before this perk will even work now... ehh, I feel like it's still giving us more of the same. Who's really tapping who here when you have a gen that's getting louder as it progresses, with that said I could see people pairing this perk with Potential Energy just to help avoid the noise factor and boost the gen through to where you can use Wiretap a bit more cautiously.
Saboteur
Does 0.2 seconds make much of a difference when it's just over 2 seconds, I think it'll be barely noticeable to survivors but hey, every little bit helps? Let's be real, most of us are going to get to Teir 3 with a perk so the cooldown here won't make a difference once you get there.
Clairvoyance
I believe this used to only work when cleansing a totem but now it also works when blessing a totem. Which I think is good, especially with some of the hex perks having gone downhill recently but it also means that half your perks will have to be totem based and I don't know that outside of totem challenges people will even care to do that right now, but to each their own.
Breakout
This perk is only slightly better but there's still no real way that I know of to know how many meters you are from something so... perks like this can be a bit annoying and near worthless in my opinion given that fact alone. We'll assume 5 meters is the length of 3 survivors so, you're basically going to have to be very close.
Buckle Up
I believe this perk has changed over the years but I think this was 10/15/20 before which is drastically worse.
Smash Hit
This perk has actually cut your exhaustion in half which is great.
Spine Chill
Now that we have the visual terror radius option I'm assuming this perk will only boost action speeds when you see your heart AKA in range of the killer's terror radius.
Bonus Codes
If you don't know or if you missed any recent bonus codes from searching through the internet I just wanted to share some console ones with you that I believe may still be active right now (these are going back to June 1st, 2023). All you do is go into the shop and in the top right you'll see where it says Redeem Codes and you'll enter the following codes for some cool things be it charms, points, gear, etc. Also, just by logging into DBD almost every day, you're likely to get some additional bonus things as well.
